Love Without Action

The Bible, God’s Holy Word, is full of a lifetime of documented stories of love, hate, betrayals, murders, wars, and so on. But today, I will be jumping in on the subject of love without action; it is just like a rose that has been clipped from the rose bush and has no life of its own, just a wilting fragrance and life that is decaying every minute of the day.

God’s priceless love was shown during His life here on earth lived out as well as the eternal sacrifice He gave Himself to us as He went through the torture chamber of the cross and bearing the gruesome pain of our sin and the Father of glory turning away from Him in that moment of darkest terror, all done for the sheep of his pasture His chosen children Jesus purchased with His own blood on calvary. Humans’ definition of love and God’s are two different things. God has told us what it is, as well as showing us what it is.

In today’s era of materialism, given to people by measure of your worth or the idea of a relationship based on the “What’s in it for me?” idea has vastly eroded the biblical view of love. A sacrificial attitude from the heart is where it must start, not “How will it benefit me?” If what you did for someone did not turn out the way your will desired it to turn out maybe you did it for the wrong reason, you expected your outcome as the principal declaration of why you did it in the first place.

Expect nothing back in return, sow the seeds of Christ and His word along with the actions that are eternally fruitful for King Jesus. Don’t love or do things for outcomes and desires, or emotions, but out of a sacrificial heart given to others, you won’t be disappointed when it’s truly done out of a pure heart, it’s given to God and left in His hands.

Not everyone can benefit from your love, either, though you may be kind to all, merciful to all, or helpful; some people just can’t be helped; they are too wicked, but you can pray for them. Not all will accept what you do; move on.

Stop looking at yourself and keep your eyes on King Jesus, not everyone will accept Christ’s sacrifice for themselves, lots paid lip service to Him every day and then betrayed Him with 30 shekels of silver for His life, others only wanted to be healed, fed, or hear Him preach, but not want Christ Himself, only what they could get out of Him. Well, Christ never gave His heart to all because He knew their own heart.

If you have had a wrong view of God’s love, it’s time to get in line with Him. If you have a relationship that needs mending or has grown cold, repent and seek to be one again, stronger and brighter, shining the King’s light to all. Time is near; be the bigger person, throw your pride down at the cross of Calvary, and pour out your love of Christ to others today.
